Description

This was my final art project in school.
Probably the first time I worked seriously with acrylics.
It was quite huge and therefore took me about 2 months to complete. Since I'm quite short, I had to use a ladder to paint the top parts :p
Acrylic paint on board
Size: 2,55m x 1,30m
Used references for the hands, I simply studied the anatomical structure of the bones of the hands to be able to bend them how I'd want to.

Obviously there's a lot of symbolism in this. The most important is the thick, green vein that leads from the heart, through the body, out the head, around the arm and into the flower that bleeds. If you have any questions about anything else, please feel free to ask :)

Vincent: yeah, it got a little cramped at the top. It was difficult to get a good overview of the whole thing, so it ended up like that :p That's why I hate rushing to meet a deadline! Thanks for poppin' by
Andy: thank you :) yeah, I'll never learn. Always end up starting huge projects that take too much work. My teacher was preparing a noose for me already when the deadline came too close.
Mike, Matías, Eyal, Iona: thank you all so much for the comments and votes. I really really appreciate it

This is very impressive! Like other people said you were pretty brave to work in such large canvas but the result seams really good.
I like your interpretation of lament and all the symbols you used for it. i specially like in this picture how you did the transitions from one element to another, they look very natural.
The colouring is very good, for a first time working with acrylics you did a really good job, i like to work with acrylics so I'm happy you worked with that media. Did you like working with acrylics?
The tones in the whole picture are very well done, and there's some textures that are really good like the clif texture! I think the black background work very well.
9/9

A picasso ? I would like to spend a bit time more on your drawings, like you did in review of my picture. I'm not an expert of this kind of art Miriam. But what I can say is that it is gorgeous!

Andrea, thank you for viewing it :) It's more of a surrealistic piece, the kind that Dalí did, just in my own style. Thank you for the kind words and the PM!
Alin, Mary, Phil, Jawine, Yavuz, thank you guys for checking it out, for the votes and comments. Also, thank you to those who have voted but not commented. If i knew who you were, I'd return the gesture

I'll tell you what it tells to me.I can be mistaken - but that's how I feel. First impression - creepy.. then I've started to think. Beautiful impulse - feeling is born in the heart. The head - for me it looks like a kiss - the feeling blossoms. The bones and flash reminding me how fragile and vulnerable these flowers are. The flower is bleeding..I think the strongest feelings are the most painful unfortunately.
If I understand it right.. this lament is very familiar to me .. It is great and very expressive work

Nadia, thank you so much for telling me your impression of it and for digging deeper. I really appreciate that. It was really wonderful reading your view of it, and it was, indeed, one that I haven't thought about before! Thank you :)
