Description
Hi, this a little parade of Douglas DC3´s. In the foreground a swedish one, middle norwegian and in the distance you can see a danish version.Maidenflight of the DC3 was already 1935. 13140 airplanes of this type have been produced (worldwide: USA, Russia and Japan) and in 1998, 400 of them still have been in commercial use (wikipedia).
In Germany they are known as "Rosinenbomber" (raisin or candy bomber), due to the fact, that the DC3 was mainly used to supply Berlin with food after second world war, while the soviets were blockading the west sections of Berlin.
15 DC3´s were meeting in Hamburg (+2 DC 6) to create a new world record of formation flight of historic airplanes.
Thanks for looking at
Stefan
