crit wise, you have a tendency to use alot of black for shadows. muddies the image. you might want to use slightly less black contrasting colors for shadows.

Great Stuff JR The green REALLY works, enrichens the whole and really makes the chameleon stand out from the bg while blending in. Still think the branch could take a leaf or two

jimiyo: I liked that cold background a lot too. I really did not want to get rid of it, I was quite satisfied with the river. BUT, the transition really did not work. I had no choice but to adapt the scenery to fit together, hence the snow-free cold background. Thanks for your comment

Nadia: the mountain used to have more contrast, but since it was supposed to be far away, I had to give it less contrast so as to keep the effect of distance.

Finally it's finished! What amazes me the most about you is that your artistic skills seems to have grown in every new artwork you post!
The colors are really my favourite part. I really love the contrast. The chameleon was a smart idea and you made it blend in pretty well!
I can't find too much to crit you about, other than that rock to the right in the picure. It looks unfinished.

great stuff! your best one so far in my opinion. the work with the clouds really paid off. only crit is what's been mentioned about too much black for contrast. conceptwise it's really great, i like the fact that the painting tells so much by itself.

It's great! and I really like it . The hot and cold theme is brilliantly expressed through colour here . Everything gets a nice even attention which is one of my favourite things about this painting.
Great clouds and reflections and ofcourse Chameleon.

My only crit would be that some parts of the landscape feel a bit fragmentalised like the cold mountains, they look quite flat and dont seem to be much influence by the light.
