Very good composition and exposure. Tight as it should be. You got the colours perfectly. Interesting to see tree swallows so far north in December. I realize you chose a high F-value to get both in focus. Its a bit soft (maybe owing to the lowish speed), though sharp.

Hi everyone and Happy Holidays to you. Thanks for making this #1 and special thanks to Carlos for not posting for a while because I know that if you did Carlos ... this would not have made it. I'll be checking for these same birds again soon and I do hope they're OK. at first i was all "awwww! <3" then i read your description and was all like "awww.... =(" that's really fascinating and sad. i really like the clarity of this image. because there isn't much color, the fine details of feather become the defining features. great capture
