This incredibly captured spider connecting these two parts of the environment is making this image outstanding.
Great capture.
Nice presentation, too.

Still would try a black frame instead.
Great work!
Looking forward to see you comment more!

Great capture.
I agree for different frame color.
I also think that the yellow part is a bit oversaturate, you can try with a selective color modification.

The frame is an average of the photo itself, something I thought I'd try since I almost always do a black frame.
@androx
The yellow is natural, I didn't adjust the saturation at all.

I think this may be a matter of differences in our respective monitor calibrations. There are some white bits, but I don't see them detracting from the image. This was full sun. The yellow is about as saturated a yellow as you can get, but it matches the true color of the flower in my monitor.

The other thing is that under-exposed areas are easy to photoshop, but burned areas you cannot save. I would always go for darker than brighter if there is a contrast.
Please dont get this wrong, I like your macro photography and glad to see more nature photographers here. This is only my opinion as an observer, its fair enough if it is not worthy

The only problem with stopping down is that the larger the aperture the narrower the DOF. When chasing a subject like this I try to go as small as possible.

I agree about the OE areas though.
Anyway, nice shot!
