Found one of many useful readings: http://www.hypergurl.com/blog/photography/water-droplets-splashes.html They mention 1/200 as a better exposure time for these type of shots. Maybe that little tweak could have given you an even sharper droplet sequence! Go on experimenting! Not mentioning the tripod usage...

Don´t realy know if it´s out of focus or moton blur but i think it´s out of focus because the focus range is to small for these shots and te drop came out very big the upper formation is awesome; hey i can see you there...!!! Well done...!!
