Description

This painting was inspired by my niece and nephew. Their imaginations let them escape to worlds where they are daring, brave, and in control. Not even the biggest monster can deter this hero from rescuing the princess Areti. Gazing at him with admiration, Areti is confident that they will find their way through every obstacle.

I painted this a couple of years ago in Photoshop. I wanted a challenging 3 point perspective. Well, it was definitely a challenge, but I did learn a lot from the process.

Awesome work, everything from their expressions to the colors and the detail goes together in a wonderful way to tell an amazing story. It reminds me of the scene in Ronja Rövardotter by Astrid Lindgren, where Ronja and Birk jump around between the two parts of the split castle over a chasm. I always imagined it'd look something like this.

Gorgeous work with colors and characters! And I agree with previous, it has the same spirit as Ronja Rövardotter by Astrid Lindgren :) ....

Thanks everyone for your very kind comments.

liiga and Ikaa - Before you mentioned it, I had never heard of Ronja Rövardotter. It sounds like an interesting book. Someday, hopefully, I will find the time to read it.

You certainly know your stuff. The colours are really well chosen and the composition, and way you define the two characters as the focus, are spot on.

Very nice work. I love the composition. I think it could have a bit more work on the shadows to give it more depth though.

very cute and detailed!!! Excellent. my one comment is the "princess" looks a bit removed from the scene, i would love to see her more engaged.
