Description
"The two men who called themselves adventurers, looked at the creature in front of them. He was neither man nor animal, yet he had the looks of both. Tall as a man, furry as a beast. They stared. His head was ornamented with feathers and leaves, and in his eyes glimmered wisdom like ancient oceans of fire. The burning glance made them bow their necks, but one of them mumbled:«We’ve stumbled across a monster.»
Fear of death revealed itself in his voice, and the stupidity in his words laid bare before the creature. Both men trembled, afraid of what they did not know and did not understand. Yet the creature opened it’s black lipped mouth and spoke.
«You have come to seek the Oracle, and before you I stand.» His voice was deep like a river’s roar, and mild as a breeze in spring. «Fear not, for I hold answer to all of your questions.»
They looked up at him with mouths open, dazzled. And the answers were given them before they had even asked."
Written by me, just as a little axtra to add to the painting. ^_^

Just some more details and background would be nice

I am also speculating a little on the background color. Maybe a cooler color like perhaps a soft green would make him stand out more? But then again I really like the color you have now, and it matches the oracle. So..
I don't really much constructive feedback to give, except do more!

Two minor things: not sure what's the dark area on the throat. If this is a shadow than it does not appear natural - looks like a hole. Same goes for the bright area on the forehead. Would look more natural if there is less contrast with the sides of the forehead.
I really like the hair, and you picked a great, unusual colour for the eyes.
A very good work altogether.
Edit: Jane, thanks for the explanation. The neck makes perfect sense now.

SandraS: Yes, green would have been nice. Maybe with a touch of blue in it... It would certainly make the character stand out more. Thanks!
Roadrunner: The dark area on the throat is his neck behind the collar. He wears a jacket you see, but I was afraid it wouldn't show since it has the same colour as the oracle himself. :/ The bright area on his head is... well, I didn't really think about it, so it might have turned out odd. I'll keep this in mind for my next piece. Thanks!

good work here
The design of the character is excellent
I think the image would benefit more from a defined lightsource.
There seems to be a lack of shadowing or darker areas which makes the overall look a bit flat
+ 8 well done

tough it looks a little pale and lights and shadows could need more work
