Hmm, I know you can't fix this on the original, but the temperature difference between the moon and the rest of the piece is a little distracting.
Anyway, keep painting/drawing/whatever.

Well, his neck was a drip and then I smeared it with a reshaped pigeon feather to the form hair. I'm still experimenting with my smudgy side. Before that I was a detail-fetishist like many other people around here. An explanation why this one looks how it looks. And yes, it's really a bit distracting. Looks a bit nicer in my book.
Maybe if I add some of the coldness in his eyes?

I like the brush stroke look, but as you stated, you are still refining how you apply it. so, I can't wait to see where it evolves.
My last crit is more presentation oriented: the left edge where the image ends could be cropped out.
