I'm not really sure what I can do about the sharpness though...

Nice, symmetrical perspective. Well captured.
Light conditions were harsh. It would be nice to see more details in the shaded areas. That would require a better time of day.
Not sure if there is a DOF or sharpness problem. Possibly both, as the cacti at the front appear less sharp then the further ones.
I'd clean some noise in the sky, and crop about 2 inches from the top.

Nice perspective,
but as Roadrunner mentioned above, the image needed to be a bit sharper.
I am not sure of cropping, but it will definitely break away the 1:1 ratio of composition.

if you want to break away from the 1:1 composition, I'd crop from the bottom instead and go for 1:2
seems a little tilted to the left to me, but only marginally.
sharpess is okay for me.

I like it. The textures and lines are interesting. I agree about the sharpness problem. Also, the horizon is cutting the image in half. Try coming closer to the rule of thirds.
