Description

I've taken this a while ago, and when I took it, I was already thinking on doing sth like this... Still, I think there's sth missing... I did what I love to do, selective desaturations and then enhanced the contrast a bit.
Yes I know it looks tilted, but that's because the top part with the arrows is actually tilted.

Beautiful desaturation
I like the tones, cool contrast

Sharp image(thumbup). Maybe you'd better include a little more space on the right.

this composition could work, but only if there was a cone of light (you could try a symbolic one by resatuating a cone.) - as there's no cone, I agree with everseen, more space to the right necessary
also, I would like the entire tower to be satuated, but that's just me.

I agree with everseen about adding space on the right. If there were some extra element on the left, such as a bird, to play off the tower, I think the composition would be more successful. The red is certainly striking, but I feel that the desaturation forces the contrast between the top of the tower and the rest of the image, so I'd like to see a full-color image.

Nice work, Vasco. I only find the red too saturated. Maybe a less saturated version would look more like a 'natural desat' :p

I also agree about the space to the right. Also, a slight tilt to the counter-clockwise might help. An interesting image. I like your desat work with this.

The cloud textures and patterns work very nicely to accentuate the tower. I like the desaturated look. I'm not sure about that particular shade of red.

Good idea but the red is too much and overwhelms the rest of scene, it would look better if the red had less saturation.

Interesting choice of desaturation. Unfortunately it doesn't working for - rather ruining the atmosphere :p Cause the sky looks dark and stormy and the lighthouse seems to be too bright and happy - so I don't really get the mood of this one..
You can add the light in photoshop you know ^_-
I like the subject but I think you can get more of this :)

the desaturation is a little too bright for my tastes. i agree with curlyhair, the contrast is too great from the sky to the lighthouse.

I like the subject and your playfulness with the image. Would also like to see the entire tower saturated.
