Description

hello gfx :)
i am quite busy these days, the last year at school is quite hard (i am studying psychology) and i was mostly away last month, i don't have much time to take new pictures and comments as much as i would like too.

anyway, i managed to get a new shot yesterday.

nothing much to say here... its an old windmill.
my inspiration for the postediting is Simon Marsden : http://www.marsdenarchive.com/library/

i love his old analogic black and white pictures... the halo effect is intentionnal here and a trademark of Marsden's works. I added some grain also, not as much as you can see on old pictures but well, some people, including MoserArtist, like it better like this so :) i'm very happy when i look at the result :)

critics and comments welcome as usual

Very nice work Jeremy! The subject deserves black and white. The sky looks ominous! Looks a bit tilted to the right and there's some noise in the sky. I also feel it could be a bit sharper.

the noise is intentionnal, i added it during post processing ;)
the picture was perfectly sharp but it seems it suffered slightly from the various post processing effects ;) thx for comments

The composition and b&w look good to me. I agree that it could be sharper.

Really nice image, the composition is spot on..
My only crit is the line that defines the sky from the windmill, its looks a tiny bit halo-ish, ok thats not a work but the windmill seems to have a small halo around it of lighter sky..
And now for the totally anal comment when photographing windmills its always a good idea to show them with the Veins off centre as in all four with sky behind them, it gives the feeling of movement.
Now saying that the windmill may not of been working so this could be the only comp possible.

yeah its an old windmill, not working anymore, and the halo effect is intentionnal :) thx for comments

it's a good shot, a bit pity it's seen that you worked differently on the sky than on the rest of the pic.

effect is intentionnal, but i'm not expert with this technique, i guess the same process could be achieved better with experience, still, i think the result is nice :) thx for comments :)
