Description

A vast plain always needs a Watcher.

There is a larger version on the additional downloads.

Software used in order to just remove some house from left. (and for b&w ,of course)

Thanks for kind critics. ;)

Very nice tree you got there!

Interesting landscape.

Think you could spare some space on left and bottom for the tree and its position. Possible step back a little so the tree won't cover to much of the composition.

Looks on some branches as you might have used noise reduction software (like neat image or noise ninja). Is that the case? Could at any rate be slightly sharper and showing more details.

Edit: The alternative version has a better flow in it and has some nice colors too. Still a bit unfortunite with that large piece of rock in the lower background. Not much you can do about it.... :p

I didn't use any noise reduction software. I think, the contrast here is not the best due to tree's background. And for the comp, there was more space on left and bottom but i cropped them !
I've posted the original one. (as you see, no need to reduce noise;) )

I like the background here. I agree a bit more space to the left and below would help the composition. Try punching up the contrast a bit.

nice work , Moser said it all
i would add that one of the main problem of this picture is that elements are blending together far too much, lacking contrast maybe, but not only ;)
the colour version is better in that aspect
keep it up

Very interesting landscape - the plains look good on both the colour and b&w version. I agree that more contrast would help. Zooming in on the tree is another option you might consider - I tried it with your larger version and I think the effect is good.

The 'alternative version' is beautiful.

Pretty nice image. The B/W and the color versions both have their strong points. B/W, however, gives the mood that matches the title.

Would crop a bit from the right side and would have some more sky to even out the composition better.

+7

Agree about the space, still great one! B&W is the way to go!

I like the B&W. I'd increase the blacks even if it meant silhouetting the tree a bit in order to further separate it from the background. A nice image!
