The character in my work is one of the characters in a famous Japanese Manga comic book series - Ouke no Monshou.
He is the prince of the Hittite empire - Prince Izmir.
In the story, Prince Izmir is very smart, has romantic temperament and excellent bow skills.
Though he is outstanding, he is not the first male character. Tragically, the first female character doesn’t love him.
The image that impressed me most in the whole comic books is the one he take bow and arrow - ready to shoot.
After reading all of the comic books I really had a mood to re-interpret this character in my way. So I made this painting.
Since the image of Prince Izmir was been created in comic books, it would be a little strange to make him too realistic.
Therefore, I kept several parts of his features in the comic books, for example his chin.
Attached are some of my references and some shots of the Prince Izmir in comic books.
Finally, this is an interesting experience for me, I hope you like this.

To Jacobine, haha~~maybe the reason is he was been created in comic books originally.
To chickenfingers, I really thank you for your valuable comments, and I saw your last piece, it's really great.

Also, it is a good thing that you post your references, as well as the original character, although you didn't copy any image precisely. It helps us understand how you were thinking during the painting process.
I hope you had fun with this! Keep it up.
