This is Lineage 2 fanart of a light elf wearing the draconic armor and holding the demonic sword Zariche. Normally light elves are all goody two-shoes in the game (although slightly less so in the concept art), so I wanted to depict a mean looking light elf for a change. And what better excuse for that than being possessed by the demonic sword he happens to be wielding.

Done for a Lineage 2 themed website header (after cropping ensues). Had a heck of a time getting the patterns on the armor just right, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

Corel Painter 9, Wacom Intuos 3, about four days on and off.

Edit (01.05.08 ): fixed the far hand a bit and adjusted the blade at one spot, which turned out to be less pointy than I'd initially assumed.

Nice work, but what is it with the Final Fantasy style sword? Never liked their exaggerated tendencies myself.

elvenearth yeah the sword is huge, but that's how it is ingame. Picked this particular sword for its significance in the lore of the game, rather than the size. ;p

Nice! This is a great piece. I like the elf's pose and the battle marked dark atmosphere that you got going on. I have a few suggestions if you'll have them

1. The elf's expression doesn't really fit the environment they are in. A little to nonchalant and he doesn't look overly battle worn which I would guess he is after levelling high enough to get that sword

2. The fingers on the right hand should probably be fully clasped around the grip and his right shoulder could be a bit higher to indicate that the sword has some weight to it, like here...http://tinyurl.com/6ky47a
3. Moving him to the right would make for a better composition me thinks too.

A wonderful piece in the end! The detail you've put into the armour is amazing. Good stuff!

Dreln! I'm not going to rework the image seen as I'm brushing the deadline already, but I'll definitely keep them in mind for future reference. This is the first time I've tried this kind of pose. ^^

Great change of palette Liiga ! I think he could use some more work on the hands, they are a bit too big and not very natural in pose.
Otherwise, nice expression, and i love big swords

Thanks for all your comments! I adjusted the far hand/arm a bit, and I think that fixes at least some of the percieved issues with the hands. The grip was bugging me too much. >.< If it still looks wrong, ctrl+f5. If it still looks wrong after that, then I messed up again. =D

Your ability to paint your vision so well is very inspiring. Great color scheme and composition. What can be improved a bit is the lightning, I think something more dynamic would have been better suited for this type of image. Despite that, it's very well done indeed.
