Description

The final piece in my four seasons set. For not having that much experience with underwater pictures, it didn't take as long as I thought it would. Wasn't exactly a breeze either...

Nice mood in this. would work more on the rendering of the hair of the red-haired mermaid and the coral structures.

It's a nice idea to put summer under water. Though to do but a good idea. What I like overall in your paintings is the brushstrokes that are visible. The colours are amaizing and you have tons of detail. In this painting i like the mermaid and the little boy. Rest of it is a great addition. Well done. I'm supprised you didn't get more votes on this. Well... But I gotta say I like that `Not quite ripe` the best of your paintings. It's got such a unique expression and the colours are amaizing... I just keep going back and looking at it! :)

Well, it seems to me like you got the underwater skincolours right. And the unsharpness of the rocks and vegetation makes it look like the water moves before my very eyes. Clever! ;)
Just two things: I think it would have looked nice with some scales on the mermaid's lower body, the fish part. And her red hair looks odd when you add those blue reflections on it; it's too smooth and too little hairy, even for underwater. It looks like moss, really.

But I love this painting!
