Aw, it's Jennifer Miller, my favorite griffon.. gryphon.. whatever. Grrriffen artist since the old days on Elfwood. Nice seeing you around yet another online community.

Great work on the cloud and the bird. Really nice detail. The whole thing aren't working out quite well for some obvious reason however.
- Your cloud creates a line which devide the image by half. If you cut your image by half (top and bottom) you can have 2 complete paintings which are perfect on their own.
- The position of the bird is on the center.
- The color sceme. Your image has a sceme of purple-red-orange-yellow harmony color range. The blue of the sky on the top left is totally opposite side of the color wheel and it took almost 1/3 of your space. The 2 color sceme are competing each other and destroy harmony.
Check out some theory about rule of thirds, avoid putting your focal point in the center and be careful about lines crossing the center of the image keep your color in range and this will be a cool piece.

Hmmm, although I agree with the comments about the composition, I do like the color scheme you used, myself. I think this color scheme could successfully work with a stronger composition.
