Made with Wacom + Photoshop.

Reference used: Photos of turtles.

I drew/painted this during the last day before the deadline after realizing I wouldn't have time to finish another, more ambitious, picture. I would have liked to add a background or more animals to this painting and maybe clean it up a bit - I was wavering between a "sketchy" and a "clean" style - but I didn't have time for that either before the deadline. Still, I like the mermaid's face and the lighting.

Martinrebas-

It kind of begins to go in a direction we pursued this year, but seems to need more stylization. She seems a bit too rigid and the color scheme (though underwatery) seems too muted or desaturated. Nice try, but I think it needs some more work.
