Made in Photoshop 7, Wacom Intuos2 A4, too many hours too count...

The yellow creature is a matibeesje, these are friendly cuddly creatures living on an island invisible to humans.

This particular matibeesje is an avatar for a friend of mine, called Maarten. The snake is based on the djungelorm snake from IKEA since these are cute snaketoys, and the snake had to be a nice snake.

Thanks to a colleguea of me, Kris, for helping me out with some shading issues and giving me tips

maybe try addmore more shades into it? i believe would make out the difference of fore ground and background

Very cute. I think the color of the snake could have been more disting from the "bear" color. I like the amount of details in the foreground.

stephan-desy: uhm now that you mention it... but i did not hear anybody who i showed it mention it and i was happy, but maybe the snake could have been a bit greener yes

Hm... this is one I don't like that much. Maybe because of the admosphere - I don't like motives which look like the teletubbies that much - but the quality of the work eventhough I may don't like it is still very good!

Did you ever think of illustrating kids books? Your Characters are extremly vivid and the whole style reminds me of kids books... that is, because I lreally like the artwork in those books. Most of the time they include som kind of strangenes hidden in the scenes. I't just like when you read Alice in wonderlanf for the second time when you're grown up. I'ts really strange try it... but i't similar with your picture, something is hidden behind the scenery, great work

@reilachan: I normally don't do cute stuff, but the world of invisible island is supercute and i must say it's nice to do in a while

@boneprophet: I'd really like to do that, but it ain't so easy getting work in illustration ^0^ A friend of mine also said that there seems to be more behind the scenery, something strange that's going on. I didn't put it in on purpose it comes with the ideas for the invisible island characters

very nice. work perfect for a childrens books.cool colors.
The composition is too much repetitive on the clouds, have the same negative space and that make the image a bit boring for the eyes.
