Textruriffic! Wow. You really took out the sometimes strictly airbrushed look you get with photoshop. I like this a lot. For some reason I feel like it's Nicole Kidman staring impishly.

Sweet. Stuff. Love the colours--especially her hair, quite an interesting pose too.

Nice work, I really like the textures and composition :) Her detail on her left hand is great, also. Her right hand looks a bit too small though, especially if it's meant to be next to her face (as the image seems to suggest).

Regarding Reqq's critique of her right hand: once someone is at the point where they are producing artwork like this they obviously have a tremendous amount of control over the visuals they create. If this was a pic of lower quality I think I would have made the same observation, but with this guy... I'd rather have faith that everything we see here is the result of a specific decision the artist made, and that any anomaly is the result of the artist trying to show us something in a way we might not otherwise see it.

A bit long winded, I know, but I sometimes get into these verbose moods.

Certainly, it's entirely possible I simply missed something with this :) I think it's always worth mentioning these things though, if only to allow the opportunity for further clarification about the artwork.

Yeah, Reqq, I know you're right. I'm sorry if it seemed I was jumping on you, that was not my intention. If I were the artist I would not want people to withhold observations like that. Those observations are the whole point of posting artwork here, right? The reason I brought up the point is that when I saw this work and read the comment I was reminded of Jeffrey Jones. You know him? I love his work. Beautiful stuff. He's one of those guys who had been doing it long enough that he can just go at it... and yeah, there are a lot of his paintings that you can find technical faults with if you're looking for that, but the paintings work, and that is what makes them right.

Hey, it is 12:04 here in oakville. Christmas! I guess I'll toddle off to bed.

This is a really nice piece for so many reasons...the traditional look of the media, the unusual pose, the inclusion of the birds...the border....really shows what feeling you can get with digital work!

some people don't understand the things you can do in photoshop just because the majority of the sheep around here do airbrushed plastic look. this is great. I like it.
