Great character. It is a bit flat though, especially in the face area. I would advise you to give it more values, this would make it look much more volumous. Look at your own face, that's the best way that I know in studying faces. Very nice all around still.

Cool character! Love the outfit- the folds in the scarf were particularly well done. The face is perfect. The dagger hints at something a little less innocent. ;)

There does seem to be something off about her pose- something with the counterbalance, if that makes any sense. I think her shoulders are supposed to be more tilted. I could be wrong.
The shadow under her left boob looks a little off also, but I don't know how to fix that one.

Overall, an excellent picture. I don't think backgrounds matter much with character pics, so I'll let you off on that one. ;) Keep up the good work!

It reminds me a little of how Anry does his character design pictures, was he your inspiration? She looks nice, the anatomy is nearly there although she seems to be tilting off to one side a little, but mabe that was intended. Overall a good picture I don't think the backround is too much of a problem, she looks like she could be in a sand storm. But as you probably know backrounds make a hell of a differance, sometimes I stare at Anrys backrounds for ages, just to see all the little details. Anyway very competent work so i'll give you +6

Yeah, it reminds me of Anry's art too. I like the warm colors, and the character features. But there's something with the face shape. I think there's something that would be fix. Have you tried a horizontal flip?
Good job!

Wow, Jeff! That is simply fantastic. I love the leather with the embellished designs, the frayed blue scarf, the brown cape, the sword hilt, the colors, the shirt, the hair, the pose, great textures, the drawn knife, the bandage, the gloves, the background, all the quality details. Even your signature is great. Great light and shadow. Her expression is good, too - she has a determined look.

Thanks everyone, yeah Anry has become a major influence as far as caring about the details in a picture.

Interesting. I like the 2-D look. Feels like a card game character. The colors are great, too. The background does need a little work, though. Even the suggestion of some hazy shapes on a distant horizon would make a big difference.

Nice work ^^ The colors indeed may look a little flat, but it fits this drawing, and the style.

Cool i Like the concept, it'd be nice to see hear in an action pose though maybe you could draw another one of her when she was wasting the owner of the blood on her knife. I like your flat colour style, but maybe you should try 3ding it up a bit.

one niggly little thing though, her knife dosn't appear to have a handle wich make spretty deadly for her.

The style does look like Anry's art too. I like how you did the tattered ends of the scarf and clothes, and the colour scheme in general, but there are a lot of little problems too. The character looks very flat, light &shadow are missing in places (eg her right breast) and judging from her scarf, her hair should be more windblown as well.

Outstanding job Jeff!

Others have pointed out the critiques I would have mentioned, so no sense repeating them. For this picture, I think the background works well, it kind of gives it a "portrait" feel. It would need a little more work (on the background) if you were to actually stick with that one.

I like the character, definitely feel like she's got a story behind her. Interesting to look at.

Overall, great job!

I don't mind the simple background. There's a real character there, she represents a person to me. Somebody mentioned that's she got a story behind her, that says it very well. If a portrait can communicate that to me, then I don't care about the background.

Ooh, I agree - this is just great! I like the warm colors, and I think the simple background is just fine. It gives the figure the attention she deserves. :) Those clothes are great, and you've managed to give her quite a bit of character. Very well done :)

I sense some Anry in this ;)
Good character design, but I think her neck is a bit too thin. The hair a bit rough, too.
The belts are very nice though! Good work! :)
