It's *almost* impossible to draw that detailed and yet achieve complete harmony (ornaments like that usually look as if they weren't part of the picture).

Thanks for the kind words. For SandraS question; No there is no direct reference for the woman or in fact for anything in the drawing. Though I did look at a lot of pics on the web of traditional Thai and Khemer Dancers as well as pics of the Ankor Watt temples in Cambodia. This however takes about 1/3 longer (in this case 20 hours) for such a drawing.

will you do a colored version of it? i think it would be very good, i think this is the drawing with most potential power of your works. i hope i didn't make big mistakes with my english! if i did excuse me.

Whoa! how did I miss one? It sure would make a great color painting.
Only one thing... her torso seems to lose its three-dimensionality on her right side as it becomes her back.

I think I like this version a bit better than the colour version. This has more integrity and light/dark balance, with gentle transitions from one object to the next, which was mostly lost, muffled, and confused in colouring. Not to say that I dislike the colour version, though-- it's well-done, with a lot of vibrancy that does it justice-- but this one feels so remarkably straightforward, an entirely different quality.
