Great capture. All of the expressions are great, there's a lot to look at.

Yeah! The expression is superb. Looking to light outside, it seems like effect of external flash in bounce mode. Which type do you have ? I am just curious, I have Sigma EF 500 DG Super and I am fully satisfied.

Hehe, looking to angle of view, I bet you have been carefully preparing compo with her standing in front of band and just before you pressed the button, she moved.

Thanks to DSLRs it's possible to enjoy true reportage style, especially if you have fast and BIG memory card, but Murphy's rules works all the time. The best expressions are allways on photos which aren't accurate :p

If you ask me, I think it would have been better if you cut away the right and left parts of the pic, and left just the part with the singer. But then again, I suppose you don't ask me... :p

Thanks, flash used on this one is Vivitar 248. It's a old school pro reporters manual flash for most of the part. It takes some time to really get work it for you but it's still awesome. I just bought professional Nikon flash SB-800 which is top line from Nikon. I love it. Almost impossible to get bad exposures in normal situations.

Actually everyone was spread around. It was a madness that I was in the middle of. I cant beleive how crazy it was and wasnt afraid. You get that after shooting in moshpit for a couple years.

DSLR's opened new world. I actually got 2 cards, fast 1gb and quite slow 4gb for long trips. I shoot for newspaper and it seems like with DSLR I'm always in control of what I'm doing.

Shooting gigs like this is like shooting sports, which is great fun. And after awhile when you feel comfortable shooting it, you get this solid control over poses. Expressions though are always a surprise. I'm actually glad that I cant capture them like I want, becuase sometimes it's very rewarding to find out how great expression turned out after you came home from shoot.

You are so good at what you do. I like her expression all by itself. She deserves to be some kind of poster child. The rest are also good as "shelf trinkets". The only drawback, to me,are the roof trusses. They just don't add anything to the energy level of composition. However, I realize you have to work with what you have. At least you get the best from the people, and that is one thing that is the least controllable. Well done.

her expression is alright, but she's plopped right in the middle and her feet are cut off (along with everyone elses) and there's so much space that does nothing for your subject. composition is the final factor that makes something good or not. everything else could be perfect but if the composition is like this, well...it ruins it. i'm sorry but this looks like something any novice can do with a dslr on automatic and flash. 3/9

I think she's fantastic! Look at how the cords in her neck are just poppin' right out there! A completely spontaneous act on her part, captured quite well on your part. :)

I'm not so proud of that shot. I just wanted to share it becuase of it's intensity. I didnt compose it becuase I wasnt looking through a viewfounder. One hand was holding DSLR and another is far stretching with flash, so there was no way I would be sitting on the flour taking my time to compose the shot while they were all jumping around me. Yes it's pointed upwards. And I personally like it, but I dont find it logical in any way. I dont care about cutting of feet. What I'd like to happen is to get closer, that would be my only satisfaction and not nessecary showing her feet.

genesm, it is intense. which is why i gave you a 3. 1/3 for feeling, 1/3 for composition, and 1/3 for how much it looks like you planned is how i score. but we've recently been talking about quality on here, so it seems ridiculous to post something that you're not so proud of

I've just "discovered" your pictures and, wow, I'm just blown away by every one of them! You are a true artist; something that cannot be said of many photographers. Some of the small-minded criticisms of your work are mind boggling - I'm not sure what kind of pictures these people would prefer.

The expressions are so very interesting! Color and contrast are going well here. Composition is not so strong, but you did what you could with the moment.
