Description

This funny little creature is a guy from the race of the Penton, a penguin race as u may guess.
Even if he dont look very strong and skilled, he is a fearless fighter, who know how to wield his spear. Hes standing there all night long, because he got the nightshift to guard the border of his town.
And even if he looks very angry, he is very happy to do his duty to the Penton comunity.

This picture was very experimental, and i didn't had a clue if it would turn out good, and i think it did.
I used an old penguin sketch that i found and scanned it.
After that, i painted it completeley in Photoshop 7.0 and my Wacom tablet. Its the first time for me to colorate something without the pencil-drawn-lines over it.
And the background were painted without any sketch.
Well... working till 6 hours on this piece and now its finished.
Tell me if u like that little fellow. :)

This little fellow definetely catched my attention.
I think you succeeded with the colouring and you have brought a good and warm ( even though his face doesn't show that now does it, heh ) atmosphere in this. Eyebrows on his expression are very nicely done and his suspicious look, just like a guardian should be.

The left leg's third claw bothers me a bit, or then I need to put my eyeglasses on, is it intentionally that short or is it just me ? The moonlight's reflections seem a bit too bright for my eyes, but then again it still suits on the picture. Ah, can't decide. And some of those claws ( ? ) on his flappers ( well can't get a better word out of my hands right now ) looks separated from the picture. But well, I'll give it 9 / 10.

Very nice piece of art.

Nice originality in this, I really like the dark colours you used! Your composition works as well but the only criticism I have is your sky. I would of liked to see more stars and maybe some detail in the moon! I really like the shine of the armour. Nice Work
