Waoooo!!!....Marek....that is a dream.....Excellent composition....all the details are perfect....If I could give 100 points....I would do it....sorry I can give you only +10/10.....I am glad I dedicated a picture to you saying how much I admire your work....You know how to take pictures of everything....and I admire that.

Avatar MsMichelleLynn

 01/25/05 @579

Beautiful shot Marek! Very soothing. I love the subtle changes in green tone in the mountains. It brings them to life. My one and only crit ... I realize you wanted to show the submerged rocks in this photo but I personally feel that the bottom should be cropped to just above them.

Great work!

Avatar maytree

 01/25/05 @590

to  shyamshriram: this landscape is nearby my home - it is in the Slovakia :)
to GFXartist sponsor MsMichelleLynn: i understand you, but when i crop it at the bottom, the horizon will be in the middle, and break composition...
thank you all for comments :)

very very very very very good!
beautiful reflection and composition! zest of picture is stones in front view! without their picture will be a very simple! please, don't crop the picture!

great work, marek! (thumbup)

I love such reflected landscapes good work ! I think that you should have taken less from the bottom or just cropped as MsMichelleLynn said.

Maytree, I really admire your photos! I personally think you belong in elite. With that said, this is one of the best I've seen from you even though all your shots are nice! I personally think that the submerged rocks are what make this piece so great, while being subtle enough not to distract from your main dominant point. The splash of orange in them is what brings this photo together and compliment the blues in the sky! +9/9

Avatar Madanapale

Avatar arbaon

Beautiful shot Marek, what makes this for me is the warm orange and brown reflections towards the bottom of the picture. It frames the sky reflection between the greens perfectly :)

oh marek .. what a wonderful image - i always considered you a more b/w kind of artist, but this one is stunning as well!
the contrast between the green mountain tops and the almost red stones in the water - simply amazing. I'd really like to see more of the red water below - would also benefit composition - it's a bit to even now for my tastes (40% land, 60% water...)

Avatar Phryneas

 01/25/05 @872

Hey maytree, without those rocks in the foreground I wouldn't believe you this is a photography I'd direct you to the 3D Modelling category, it just looks so flawless.
The rocks in the front work well and I wouldn't let them away, you are perfectly right about the composition being best this way - although you may not forget that a centered compo _could_ work in this photo, too - in this case it would make the feeling of symmetry even stronger.

Avatar exitium2000

nice and crisp..good saturation of the greens... about the crop..I think it sometimes comes down to documenting a scene/location over pure aesthetics... sure it might look better with a tighter crop..but does it feel better..for you..knowing you cropped out what you saw at the location..and what inspired you..

I love your placement of the horizon line...

Avatar ARTOONATOR

I don't want to be a partypooper, but the other landscape you posted is much better. That one has way more depth to it. This has not only the disfracting orange stones, but also a not so very interesting horizon. The only thing I really like about this is everything above the horizon.

Avatar Leetah

 01/27/05 @891

Very beautiful. I love the warm and cool reflections in the water. The rocks do draw attention, I assume you realize that and wanted them, but they are distracting. Nice shot !

I'll start planning the construction of my castle over there *points to the middle left* +8 points for showing me where to center my new empire! hehe ... i'll have to do it tastefully, of course, so as not to corrupt the view or mess with the pristine location.

ok, so maybe the photographer realized it was beautiful?

... anyway, it is at that....

but it's also a landscape . . . really advancing the "art" these days aren't we? . . . :*(

. . . maybe a nice big lens flare would push it over the top?

This is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. When I first had seen it on the thumbnail, I thought it's not real...

Avatar Yumeji

 02/01/05 @920

Gorgeous, simply put. One of the more original landscapes I've seen in a while. I suppose that may be due to the contrasting colours [green/blue vs. orange/yellow]. I was initially blown away by how everything was focused in, not a section left unfocused. But that may just be the amateur in me speaking.

I also like how the colors become more vibrant the closer they are to the spectator. I suppose that's a natural effect with photography. ^^;;
