This was about a year ago when I decided to try and draw from my sandals from life. ( Which I learned is the best thing to do now if I want to get better. )

I drew it on printer paper with pencil, then I masked it in black with a sharpie. I then took it into photoshop and lightened it just a bit. It's not that much different from the original. The entire drawing, surprisingly, took more than two hours because I became very engrossed in random details. I didn't pay very much attention to shading on purpose.
