Description
Hi everyone, Sorry for the long absence! Been very busy lately.(yadda yadda yadda)I have been asked to provide a tutorial for this 'Drew Struzan' technique since October 2004. So to those that have been waiting this long, my apologies! But your wait is finally over.
This is my latest piece on the Drew Struzan style. I picked Jennifer Garner as Elektra because she looks so cool. However I do not like the movie at all.
Okay, so all you want right now is the tutorial? Alright, don't let me stall you. Go on and click on the tutorial link and pray the Geocities server is not busy.

I hope it is helpful!
[EDIT] Following the advice of arenhaus, I wish to note here that you can find the original reference for this work in the tutorial section. Thank you.
[UPDATE 7/2/05] The artwork has been touched up again. It seemed that after not looking at my work for some time, I begin to spot many more rooms for improvement.

Sorry to pester you, but 1) it is in the rules, and 2) some people have posted entirely too many pictures traced directly over photographs here recently, which could negatively impact the credit given to any artists. By complying to the rules, you help us to keep the good faith in artwork.

The image is not displayed and the link doesn't work either

There was a movie behind her? I just went to see Jennifer in that red Valentine's Day outfit... hubba hubba!!!
BTW: Great tutorial.

arenhaus, I have included the original photograph in my tutorial. I hope you didn't miss it. I agree with what you said and that people should show us the original references for us to truly appreciate the final product.
I am glad that some of you enjoyed the tutorial. I thought it might not be what you are looking for, which is PURE Struzan.
DigitalDust, haha.. I just want to see another episode of Alias until the title Elektra comes up.

Otherwise - solid illustration work. I'd really like to see what you could do without a photo.

It's a great example how talented people with skill can work with traditional media.
To me it's a perfect portrait and I also like the colors you used and the look you gave to it very much.

Besides the fact I love your work, there's two things that bother me in this:
The hand in the front is, in this perspective, too small.
Her jaw is very masculent. It makes her face look masculant in general. Not very attractive (to me).

AWESOME.

ARTOONATOR: Yeah, Jennifer Garner is a very masculine type of person. Nothing I can do about that LOL. Well, the perspective must be correct because I did it from the photo reference after all. The Photo can be found in the tutorial section.
eduardobedoya04: Thanks!
