He is one of our best photographers around here, always experimenting with his style and very often amazing me with things I had never expected to see from him - Tropical Ice by Elite, GFXartist sponsor eremita, wich he dedicated to me was one of those photos. Keep up the great photography José!

Great picture, great mood on this. Maybe it needs a little contrast adjustment, but this won't cause me to give you other mark than maximum. I am so happy that you dedicated this picture to José Manuel, yes it is true that he is one of our best photographer around here, like his father. I am learning from them much, everyone must check their art works, maybe to take lessons about photography, maybe to see what real photography art is. Thanks again for dedicating this to eremita.

Well, the concept is good. Its a little grainy, a lower ISO may have worked better. I think the contrast is ok. Overall though its a great photo!

I have trouble to evaluate your last 2 pictures...no question they are good...but I sense a change of mood on the balance of zones...with predominance darker middle zones that give the picture a sad or somber mood...is it because of the winter.?..I have to wait our rainy season to judge by myself...Abour this one...I like the way you captured the breaking ice...the details on the whites are excellent...and I don't know about the right lower corner...I sometimes find it distracting because of the out of focus...and sometimes I like it because it adds to the sensastion of depth.....You know how much I apreciate your honest comments...and I know that you won't get upset by mine.....The change of mood is confusing for me....

mmmm The piece seems a bit off balanced with all the contrast on the right. The grain doesn't seem too bad IMO. I think it adds to a particular mood.

Great photo, I agree that some whiter 'whites' would be nice. Apart from that the motion of the water is very soothing and the dof is good too.

I would like to see this a bit brighter with more contrast. It appears from my monitor that you increased the saturation of the blues. I can see evidence of this in the ice but especially in the water where blue specks are visible. A better way to bring out the blues would be to use PS photo filters and then adjust the saturation of the filter.

I did not increase any satuation in this photo Michelle :)
I overlayed it with a burned version of the photo to get that dark mood (I think this goes with your "filter use";) - except to that I had a bad colour noise in here and some of it may have not been completely filtered out, I'm still working on some methods to get control over that. (RAW files are not easy to process for me as I use just a freeware tool for that)

Technically this piece is acceptable, but I really don't find it very interesting. The most interesting part, in my opinion, is the ice on the right-hand side. But since most of the frame is filled with generally uninteresting water it seems kind of commonplace - like I've seen this photo dozens of times before. The grain has already been mentioned, so I won't say anything more about that. I'm surprised you still got blurring in the water at 1/200 shutter - I guess you had to be pretty close, so that would explain it. Composition is ok, but not extremely interesting either - putting the action in the center of the frame doesn't really make the viewer work to look at the picture. As I said, technically it's ok, I just wish there were something in it that made me see water and ice in a new way.

I love ice & water The only thing that bothers me is the white snow/ice lump in the lower right. It distracts me a little. But other than that it looks so very cold brrrrrr :)

I like the effect of the water near the ice! :)
Maybe a bit light more should be interesting, the only thing that distracts me a bit is the ice in the foreground in the right side.
I love the ice composition on the middle right side...it seems bricks! :)

Great subject! I think the light is great, the right side just seems a little too bright. So pretty!

perhaps it is a monitor thing, but it's a bit too dark... but I like everything else aside from the noise..but that's a bane of my existence too lol
