Description
Many years before I was born, my home state of Rhode Island was mostly farmland and open country. Since then, it has been replaced with what society calls progress. Those beautiful open areas have been replaced with condos, office buildings, malls, and homes. The remnants of those times past can be seen in Yankee stone walls threading their way through the remaining woods and fields along with forgotten burial sites and old rusted farm equipment.I often wonder how much progress we have actually made.
I was inspired by Marek (Maytree) to take this photo. Recently he had posted a wonderful series of photos taken in the fog.
Thank you Marek.

I really like both the versions (b&w and colour). Misty, calm and beautiful. Dreamy look, and the photo also tells a stroy.
Good.

Different for you, and I love well done black and white - I prefer it over the color version for the emotion it invokes.

So I take a week off and you start landscape photography??? Plus you pull it off very well
Being critiquer #62 I doubt I can say anything original to help comment on this, but I will say your choice to go with a gray frame and not black was a very wise choice.

I just like the b/w a little more. Like waking up early one morning after an overnight heavy snow. Those moments when time stands still. Very nice work.

Its really nice to see you experimenting on other ways, this got really nice, although i wasnt sure about the branches in the upper-left, but i realized that they fit in well, because makes balance between the dark edges.
So i finally got myself to comment & vote.
Very well done Michelle, great work!

great job, but not my fav from you though! lol
i like the colors of the tree in the color version, but b&w was a nice choice, it gives it more "poetry" (my english sucks today
good positioning too!
congrats for the MEGA success of this!

like the depth of shadows.
i liked the color version than the b/w.
the colors are light, non-distracting and hint at a range of moods.

On a separate note, being the dragonfly lover you are, have you noticed the similarity in form that farming plow has to a dragonfly? Or am I the only one who sees it?
