Description

A revision of an older painting. You can see the original one in my gallery section. It's still not a perfect piece (compositionally, and tonally), but I'm much happier with it now.

It's fun to revisit an old subject from time to time, to assess how much (or how little) you've learned.

Done in Photopaint 10 at 2000 pixels tall.

I think she should be looking at what shes reaching for...and I kinda dont like all the diagnol lines going across everywhere... i love the apple tree though it reminds me of a bonsai tree. the mountains are great.

I like the softnes and the colours, the background is very nice, but I agree she should have either a different clothing or none at all to fit the mood.

Good.

i like this piece, it has the old painting kins of feel. maybe becoz of the color. the girl proportion doesnt really look accurate or should i say appealing but she is CUTE. ^^

reminds me of adam's apple.

maybe a more contrast in light might improve more on this piece? hmm...maybe it might kill the mood u have now....

Endeed, everytime when I am returning to my old drawings I am experiencing exactly what you have described. With new insight I can easily uncover old errors I haven't seen before and it's easier for me to fix them.

Concerning this painting, color scheme and brush strokes envokes me a pastel drawing. You have perfectly captured calm mood of summer evening. Girl expression looks like something just draw her attention while she was ready to grab an apple. That's nice and it looks so natural.

As a main subject of the painting I believe girl deserves more details. Everytime when I look to this painting she immediatelly draw all the attention so I believe a little more precission in the highlights, shadows and shapes would improve overall feeling a lot.

As a whole this is sweet, but, like Robert said, the girl deserves more detail. The foliage of the tree is too unfinished, IMO, and kinda drags the image down a bit.
