Description

The fragile dawn is coming.
Like the stars when the night fading,
Little by little... the plane is vanishing.

The northstar was an airplane.
Now, your are back home.
Good luck Daphne.

That's is the end of the Daphne's serie.

The serie started with an illustration done for a music group called "The northstar is an airplane "
I created the character "Daphne" , who was supposed to be lost, and looking for the northstar.

----> 1) The end of the serie takes place during the sunrise, but the serie started in the night. The northstar is an airplane by GFXartist sponsor Sixio Daphne was sat on a well, stared at the plane. Daphne asked her way, the plane came unhooked, and she left the well, then she have begun to follow it...

-----> 2) And, she followed the plane, running and running, traveling through the place.
Run, run, run... by GFXartist sponsor Sixio for instance, she was running in the ruins of an odd city.

-----> 3) The dead end by GFXartist sponsor Sixio She came running up to here, up to the dead end, actually. The exit was close at hand, she tried to reach the gate, or the strange light, below...

You might remember I started this pic just for the tutorial thing, so if you are curious, check the birth of the drawing in the tutorial. http://sixio.free.fr/graphic/tut3.jpg

Very nice. Color reminds me of an old illustration. Great athmosphere. I think the water could use more riples.

Another nice piece.

Im not sure the stylized clouds work with the rest of the painting...but you've captured your mood perfectly so that's a minor crit.

:) Very bold, I wish I could make my stuff flow like that
:) Superb colour choices
:) Interesting textures
:) Nice idea
:( Character looks a bit rushed
:( And talking of rushing, aren't those rushes a bit big? Perspective could do with a little work

Great colors, very intimate mood and plenty of personal style, as always. I do think the water surface needs a bit more depth, kinda looks like a hung cloth.

Like the atmospheric/moody effect you've achieved.

The complimentary color scheme of muted/greyed orange and blue is good.

I agree the rushes are, perspective-wise, too large compared to the character - unless the character is small or the cat tails large(?) The water she is walking thru looks too thick, like gravy. I think that could be improved to better read like water.

Avatar Madilynnn

 03/15/05 @072

This is amazing! I can't stop looking at it... I love the cat tails and the movement of the water where the character is walking. She looks so small and innocent... the mood is captured very well. Nice one! This is going in my favorites!

I like how the almost two dimensional layered feel of the clouds, makes it look even more surreal.

Avatar JordanRoots

J'adore comment tu as peint l'eau, là où les pieds de daphné sont.
je trouve que les nuages manquent un peu de détails comparé à la fillette, mais leur formes sont très belles.
J'aime beaucoup les couleurs que tu as choisit pour le ciel.
Very good work!
