Description
TO CROSSIFIXIO….PAUL..An excellent Photographer Who was so kind to dedicate a picture to me..
Link to Crossifixio… http://crossifixio.gfxartist.com/
The title is phrase of a poem by Roque Dalton….
“los vendelotodo”…The ones who can sell everything.
A controversial figure because of his political views but a great poet….
The poem describes some characteristics of the poor Salvadorian people …the poem contains some hard remarks but the author understood the social roots of our defects.
I include a fragment and I tried to translate it…
English translation….
Love Poem
The parasytes,the beggars,the marihuana smokers,
The “guanacos” (Salvadorians) great sons of a bitch!!
The ones who barely made it back to the country…
The ones who were luckier and could stay…
The eternal ilegal aliens
The ones who can do anything…
can sell everything…
can eat anything,
The first ones to pull out the knife
The saddest among the saddest people of the world,
My fellow citizens!!...My brothers!!
Roque Dalton (El Salvador 1935 – 1975)
PS
El Salvador…Actual Population 6 587 541…..Area 8124 sq mi…(21 040 sq km)
About 3 700 000 Salvadorians migrated out of the country because of Poverty and the civil war.(Mainly to USA)….The active labor force of Salvadorians in USA it is now larger that the one at home…The economical survival of the country depends now on the money the immigrants send to their families at home….My country has beautiful landscapes but also hard realities….

I've been to the Dominican Republic last summer, and I saw many scenes like this, people selling everything, just in front of their houses or what was left of it... It reminds me of that...
excellent description, fits perfectly with the photograph!

Very powerful. Very harsh, cruel and sad. Most of all, this is one of your strongest photographs yet, in my opinion. . .
It's too easy for me to say I like your beautiful landscapes better, yet I know that I just don't want to admit how much this means to me somewhere. . .
It's like the familiar saying,"Truth hurts". . . .
+10
--Just a thought - I tried experimenting on this (hope you don't mind) to see if it would hold more strength if it had less color. I changed the hue to a sort of brown/yellow, then desaturated it so it almost looked b/w. I'm not sure if it was stronger, but you might want to give it a try. Please. . . I don't want to be a nuisance or have you think that I don't like it . . I just thought you might want to try it and see what you think. . . I really love this photograph as it is, so please don't get the wrong impression from my inexperienced advice.

10+++
I like it, really really, a lot!
It's so natural, so realistic. I can say it, im from Brasil, and where I live we got lot's of small vendors like tha man in that picture.
The expression in his face, his image itself in the middle of his products... so natural, so bucolic... Got the - real -tropical feeling. The real... not the one you see in some beach' air fly company ad.... the plain simple life. you got it.
Seems real, live, it almost smells like fish.
10+++, no words.
