Description

This one is supposed to the first in a serious of four illustrating that wonderful, creepy poem from the movie IDENTITY.

When I was walking down the stairs,

I met a man who wasn't there.

He wasn't there again today.

I wish, I wish he'd go away.

Well, I've kind of gotten sidetracked since then and I hope to pick this series up again someday soon. If anybody has any ideas on what the other three illustrations should contain, I'd love to hear them. Most importantly, I need a brilliant way to illustrate a "man who wasn't there" (a shadow? empty clothes?)

Also, if anything looks off on this one, I'm always open for improvements. Thanks for looking

I love that poem, but it's not just from that movie (fyi). I do beleive it's rather old, actually.

The stairs are seriously creepy, and I like that shadow idea for the man who wasn't there rather than empty clothes. Shadows are creepier.

Great painting.

Awesome! Excellent play with light, has a neat scratchy effect. :)

Great job with the light.

For the man who wasn't there why not just not have him there at all, have the person interacting with someone who isn't there.

The poem sounds like an oxymoron, the painting is pretty cool. I like the perspective of it.

I can not put in words all I know that this is a very beautifully creepy stuff, I like the shadows on the stairs leading to the red door. The red door is impresively the attraction to my eyes, really beautiful lighting/colors composition.

That's great. I love the darkness of it. +7/7

Such a creepy feeling I get when I look at this... I guess you've achieved what you wished for then. ;)

I can't believe this didn't get more points - what a shame, I will have to help out with that because this is wonderfully creepy. Love the perspective, love the lighting and love the rendering style...I can almost imagine eyes under those stairs - yikes.

Good job creating a dark mood for this piece. Wood is well handled, grain and light cast and reflect makes them look pretty realistic. Red door has a great dramatic shadow creeping on it.
