This is really nice. I really like your paintings. I think this image could use some specular highlights in the eyes and a few other highlights here and there (hair, edges of flowers and grass, etc.) to give it some life. I also think the crop is a bit tight. I feel like she's crammed into a box. I think you did an excellent job on her skin. She has a healthy color yet she still reflects back the green from the grass. I would imagine that must've been difficult to paint. Also, the white of her clothes is great. It contains so much color, yet still it is white. No amatuer job, this painting. Great job.

emarts, your critic is right. I think it does need a little bit more highlighting and I didn't see it before but now that you mention it she does seem a little cramped in the space. I'll have to play with that, thanks!

Wow, well, that's pretty high quality! Espescially the fabrics. Can you show the reference? I don't agree with emarts on the tight crop, it intenses the focus. btw: You should post that 'kitty', it is unbelievable. How come your digital portraits are so much more intensive than your analogues?

I have to agree with Mr Book here, I thought this was a photography. You painted her very well and very real, I think she would be thrilled if you saw this to her. Anyway...what catches my eyes firstly was the eye, the cheeks and of course the fabric. Tho no expert in painting, but I know how paint a fabric can be such a killer and also a thriller if you paint it awesome. And I think you did, so....what more can I say?

Excellent! At first glance I thought I was looking at a photo. Especially nice work on the fabric and the flower tiara. One other thing that helps make it look convincing is the depth-of-field effect you got by blurring everything other than the subject. By the way, cool signature.

Alexis Bledel has one of the prettiest faces ever. The only thing that bugs me a little is how the grass looks quite smudgy. I'm not generally a fan of paintings that are exactly copied from a photograph, though if this is what you love to do then by all means continue. However, it seems that this isn't the first time that you forgot to post the reference upfront

Thank you for your comments. As stated above this was referenced from a scene from a movie, not a known photograph. PeachySticks, I believe that all of my artwork displayed on here have a point of reference. It's funny that you commented here as I just showed my daughters your work - amazing! Well, I worked really hard on this one and am happy to have made it to the top, even if for a moment.
