How to Make a Realistic Star Field

A new tutorial is online detailing how to go about making a completely customized, realistic star field. The tutorial is designed to break the hold that Bryce and other programs boasting star field creation features have on burgeoning space artists. Throw off the shackles of poorly written (not to mention predictable) algorithmic output star fields! Create your own heavens! I assure you the result can be as good as the effort you put into the process.

The tutorial is also prefaced with an pre-release excerpt from my upcoming "Capturing Heavens" article, detailing my views on star fields in the space art of today and things that are important to keep in mind. I sincerely hope it is insightful and helpful to those that take the time to read it.

I spent ALL night and the majority of today slaving away at photoshop getting this 'just right", I have in the process learned ALOT from this tut and HIGHLY recommend it to anyone looking to learn more about what photoshop can do, or of course someone in dire need of a REALISTIC looking star field.
