This tutorial should step you through making a simple, yet realistic-looking planet using Adobe Photoshop 7, and ONLY Adobe Photoshop 7. We're working small here, so keep in mind that the larger you work, the harder the planet will be to create (just a bit more work as size increases).

I found this tutorial very helpful indeed. Also, if you use that texture you provided with a oranges yellowish color, you can make a decent looking Sun. Just thought you'd like to know.

i know that this tutorial have been here for about three years now and i always loved it.
i have tried to do this tutorial before and it never worked (wll, i was a beginner). anyway, now i am sharing this to say that not only i did it, but also i have created the planet using Photoshop CS3 not 7!!
