Make A Change Contest 2006

This contest is all about experimenting and making some changes to try and become a better artist.

The Contest Starts January 12, 2006 and Ends March 15, 2006

There will be two winners for this contest and every member, elite, and mod is encouraged to participate.
* One post per contestant.

The Task
There will be 2 different parts to this contest, you can choose one or the other, but these aren't combined in anyway, and each part will be judged separately.
Part 1) Changing Mediums- Your task is to create an original piece that incorporates the theme that is a medium that you have never posted in before.
--For example: [member]Madanapale[/member] would post in Painting or Drawing since that is an area he has never posted in.
Part 2) Changing Styles- Your task is to post an artwork in a medium that incorporates the theme that you have already/normally post in, except try a new style that you normally wouldn't do.
--For example: Mugil would do a Macro photography shot since he normally does photography, however he mainly does bird phtography, so he would be expanding his horizons to a new style withing photography he has never tried before.
CHOOSE ONE OR THE OTHER, IT IS 2 SEPARATE PARTS, YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO BOTH, CHOOSE ONE

The Theme- No theme, no constraints, nothing, go nuts with any idea and have fun. It is important to have the freedom to come up with absolutely anything you desire when trying something for the first time.

Judging- The judges will be judging based upon originality, how you challenged yourself, as a piece of art alone, how it interprets the theme, and the overall success/impact of the image.

Judges are: UE-Skateman, Wysiwyg, ThruMyEyez, Eskarina, patrix77, and PeachySticks

Prize- Because of the fact that we are trying to make a change with ourselves, why not try to change the world while we are at it. When the winner of each area is decided, they will choose to which charity each judge will donate $10.00 USD in the winner's name.

A sponser? Just like your comps, the prizes are coming right out of the judges pocket

The extended deadline is so that the competitors have time to familiarize themselves with any new software/medium/style they choose.

It is with regret I have to disqualify myself as one of the judges in this contest. Without thinking properly I realize I have commented and voted on two of the entries (Pam and Arne's) and as a designated judge I should have waited until the contest was over. Old habits are tough to break and I wasn't remembering I was supposed to be judging this contest when I made my comments. I hope a replacement is found without a problem.

First off Gary: votes mean nothing with this contest
Second: I don't think a preliminary crit can alter your ability to compare it to another work. Just think of it as publishing notes you can reference later.
Third: You were our photography genre judge!!! We can't afford to lose you

i will enter with my 'autumn breeze and her' piece for style and a brand new medium 'photograpy' which i will post later on

but just one question, how do you submit those arts for the contest! as far as i understand we just give the name and/or the link to our preposted artwork...

if i am mistaken pls correct me and guide me
