Winner of the GFXartist Calendar Contest 2003

Now, the winner of the GFXartist Calendar Contest 2003 is:
BIGROD

When we read through the comments that were given by other members and Bigrod's description and we instantly got the feeling that this one was right. "The concept was a simple one: I wanted to create a cover that wasn't artistic in itself - that wouldn't seek to define the style of the artworks in the calendar - but more one that defined the motivation behind the calendar. This is OUR community, and hence should be a reflection of US." It seems that you have succeeded. Bigrod receives a free GFXartist wall calendar with his work on the front and twelve of the greatest artworks by GFXartist members. A remarkable collection of creative sparks from 2002 to cherish in 2003. The calendar will be available from our shop soon.

But... last but not least we felt that there should be a honorable mention. Because there was one other entry that came oh so close to winning the contest.

Honorable mention: TJVision's calendar cover

An excellent creation. The illustration of the girl is wonderful and we just loved the whole idea. Unfortunately it lacks a bit of body and the text is rather flat. I was very sad to see this baby fall to a second place, but never the less an excellent creation.
