Update and GFXartist Team Changes

It's been a while since you've heard something from the guys that work behind the scenes, including me as I've been very passive for quite a while. Despite our absence Wysiwyg and

MePhIstoZoR have been watching over you guys, addressing a wide variety of issues.

TheNeverman has been bringing you the news from around the web and our forum moderators including

Raphael and

JordanRoots have kept the forums organized, getting rid of spam and the occasional empty post. Besides those with 'special' icon, many members have also invested their time to make things a little more exciting and have members collaborate in fun projects such as

kittyKat's Giant Wall Poster. It's great to see that you are all GFXartist's residents rather than just visitors, whether you organize fun activities or passionately debate sensitive and controversial subjects.

Recently we've had to deal with a lot of spammers and the occiasonal member who decided to leave GFXartist behind, but not without slamming the door as they left. That is exactly why I want to take this opportunity to announce that Wysiwyg now joins the admins to become

Wysiwyg. I strongly feel that Brett approaches tough issues with respect for all parties that deserve some and I am sure many of you share that experience. Obviously this goes hand in hand with the fact that I can't invest enough time to keep track of everything that goes on within GFXartist and I am happy that Brett agrees to handle issues when I am unable to respond to them in a timely fashion.

I also want to let you know, especially for the people who have contributed to the various discussions, that the issues that have been discussed recently regarding GFXartist and the solutions that have been presented by you are being discussed by the team. This includes the FAQ section that desperately needs an update, as well as the categories and subcategories of our galleries and of course the 2007 Stats that failed to show up when 2008 began. As all such issues require some thought or work or both they will take time to get resolved. I do want to assure you that your discussions and input are heard and appreciated.

That wraps up this update. Now go and reserve your spot on the Giant Wall Poster.

Raphael has also agreed to join the moderators. With the extra privileges he can tidy things up beyond the forums and help out where needed. Thanks Raphael!

An excellent choice indeed! Brett has spent many hours working for the good of the community and deserves much appreciation. He has always been very fair and measured in his actions and I'm sure will continue doing so.

Thanks for the opportunity Martin, and only hope to live to both the Founders and Member's expectations.

In the coming days I'll be posting a checklist of sorts that outlines my intentions with the new found website access.

First though, I need to poke around and see what new doors are open, discuss with Martin any particular goals he has in mind and then prioritize based on accessibility, and overall need.

This will not be an overnight change, so please don't expect lighting results.

Coupled with what I mentioned above, my wife and kid are in town for the week (haven't seen them since Xmas) and they are my top priority till next weekend when they leave.

Just please be patient and remember that it's a marathon...not a sprint.

Although I am not active as I used to, I sometimes get the chance to check out the site to browse but this one I can't let pass without saying anything...
I feel the site will be in good hands with you Brett...awesome responsibility but I believe you can take the challenge with utmost credibility

Glad to know that you got the chance to be with your family as well...
Kudos also to the others who keep on trying to keep this site running like clock work ...*applause*
