Wacom has just announced a price drop on the Cintiq 21UX - to $1999 (USD).

as I understand you still need to have the Cintiq attached to a computer. basically this is a monitor with a wacom tablet screen

I think a tablet pc with wacom technology built in is a better thing. a tablet pc you can easily bring to a croquis session etc.

I have buyed a wacom intius,3 and that was good for me to work. The software the as included is super( adobe photoshop elements 4,corel painter essentials 4.0 and the filters , brushes wacom3) all for the price of $225.
Well that was a deal for me. you need time to explore all that stuff.
