Operation Immortality: Adam and Eve 2.0 Art Contest

Operation Immortality: Adam and Eve 2.0 Art Contest
Sponsored by NCsoft®

Contest Description
Could your art help preserve the human race? Operation Immortality is a chance for you and your artwork to be a part of mankind's "greatest achievements."

NCsoft®, one of the world's leading publishers of online computer games, has announced it will launch the "Immortality Drive" - a digital time capsule containing the greatest achievements of mankind along with select humans digitized DNA. The archive will be stored at the International Space Station to serve as a remote "offsite backup" of humanity, should we suffer a fate where, like in NCsoft's Tabula Rasa video game, mankind must fight for their survival after the earth is destroyed.

Contest Theme: Adam and Eve 2.0
If the Earth did end and the human race was reborn from the digitized DNA we send into outer space, what will Adam and Eve 2.0 look like?

It's an art contest based on the Tabula Rasa video game universe. The winner from the Epilogue mini-contest will have their artwork and DNA included in the Immortality Drive which launches into space in October.

Visit the official contest thread on Epilogue to read the full briefing.

As soon as I failed a completed mission (because I neglected to push a button to confirm completion before I left the instance) I quit the game.

This really looks like a hoax if you read carefully:
it says that they're going to send the winner's "digitized DNA" to outer space but how can they "digitize" someone's DNA? and what do that exactly mean? When i "digitize" an image all i do is to make a computer generated copy of it which can be saved as a file, but you can't put your hand on the glass of a "genetic scan" and get a carbon copy of your genotype: that's the kind of things which only happen in movies and even if you could it would still be a copy of the information contained in the DNA.
The Human Genome Project took several decades and million dollars just to determine the biggger part of an haploid sequence before uploading the data to the net; keep in mind that each person has a diploid sequence so it's really hard to believe that this guys are really going to "digitize" someone's DNA, and they say they're going to do the same with more than one person ... by the way are you talking about Genomic DNA only or are you going to include Mitochondrial DNA too?

Seriously, wouldn't it be way easier and cheaper to take samples of the winner's cells instead of this mysterious and experimental procedure?
