gfxartist.com Weekly Speedpaint Challenge!

What is speedpainting?
Speedpainting is a fun and easy way to improve your artistic skills. It is also an excellent passtime activity!

A speedpaint is a quick painting. It's not like those gigantic masterpieces you see around the net that takes the artist more than 30 hours to make - no, a speedpaint is usually made in between 20 minutes and 2 hours. The purpose is to loosen your grip around the brush, free your mind and just have fun without having to be deadly serious.

You will surely be amazed to see how fast your skills improve when you start speedpainting on a regular basis!

Many online digital art communities arrange a weekly speedpaint challenge. Now gfxartist.com has one too. And it is surely about time!
Each week a theme is announced, and people interpret that theme the way they like and make one or more speedpaints based on it. The speedpaint is then posted in the same forum thread that the theme was announced in.

There are no prizes involved, as the whole idea is to just loosen up, have fun and paint.

Where can you find this Speedpaint Challenge, you ask?
In the forums at gfxartist.com! There is a new thread for every new theme, and the thread is titled "SP CHALLENGE", followed by the name of the theme.

Hopefully there will be a section of its own for gfxartist's weekly speedpaint challenge in the near future!

Join in! There are no quality guidelines for the speedpaints, and everyone can join!

When I do speed paint and than compare it with some other speed paintings, I don't feel like posting at all.

But, as soon as I get some free time, I'll be in.

Yeah, you should join! Comparing one's works with other works is the first step to quit painting. Like I said, there are no quality guidelines, and everyone can join!
