Flaming discussion at Razorart

A few days ago we stumbled on a site that reminded us *a lot* of Razorart. While checking what was going on, we heard from Theremon that they knew about the site, but didn't take any action so far. Is it heavily influenced or a plain rip? The 135 comments prove it's not a simple question to answer. Here's the newsitem by Theremon:

Well... I won't elaborate on this, as I feel there's not much to say - the thing speaks for itself. As much as I hate to do this (both reporting site rips and even more redirecting traffic to those sites) check out WinXPtheme. For me, that thing is Razorart in blue & green. There's a saying in my parts about shit like this, but it's not that easy to translate... Anywayz... If you'd like, go there, check out the layout and tell us what ya think...

GFXartist has replaced the link to WinXPtheme with 'WinXPtheme' to aviod redirecting traffic.

We are not going to call anyone a rip-off, but you might be interested in this thread. It's quite a read, but it does point out the thin edge between being inspired or ripping someone off.

Please do not post any more accusations, the people from WinXPtheme have agreed to redesign the site, although they still don't think you can call it a rip. Cases like this are always quite tricky, especially deciding to either keep it private or make it public. We sure have learned from this and will handle possible ripoffs with caution in the future.

God, cant people design their own sites? It's not that hard, maybe like 1 week to get most the HTML.

Thanks Jeff. Theremon ended the discussion over at razorart with a reason, and we don't wan't to have the same discussion over here. I think we all know how you think about it, and you made your opinion *very* clear over at razorart.

We only posted a link because we think the discussion is quite amusing to read, and because we think our members can learn something from it, not to discuss it over and over again.
