ACiD releases ACiD-100: Their Final Artpack

Thirteen years later ACiD Productions (formerly ANSi Creators in Demand) has released it's final artpack, ACiD Acquisition Update 100 or ACiD-100 for short. This product is the collaborative result of 16 intense months of creativity and planning amongst many of the 715+ members who have been a part of our art group between 1990-2003. Included is a wide range of "lorez" textmode art, "hirez" pixel art, high-quality music MP3s, and 4 of our most popular graphics software applications, complete will full source code released under the GNU public license!

It goes without saying that this download is large and pretty much requires a broadband connection (or a LOT of patience), as it's in the neighborhood of ~450MB.

Fortunately we have secured several extremely high speed FTP mirrors and Torrent seeds ready to handle the bandwidth demands.

You can download your copy now using BitTorrent, FTP, or HTTP. For download locations please refer to http://anthem.acid.org/acid/index.html or www.acid.org.

Thank you to everyone for making this such a memorable pack.

I kinda looked around, it seems they are a quite legendary ANSI art group who have now expanded into many other forms of art.

I'm with kariefury... I was curious to what ACiD was all about, but their website doesn't do a very good job of establishing what they are about.

Almost correct. Yes they are a quite legendary ansi/ascii art group but they have expanded to other forms of art in the course of time (probably the ansi/ascii part of the whole scene becoming a bit dead had something to do with it). Anyway, this is their last artpack so it seems ACiD is now officially defunct. Looks like there is still one old and quite famous art group left now (iCE), who are completely into hirez and stuff. But i didn't hear anything from them for a while now... last artpack was made around november 2003... hope that they still are alive and kicking :)

iCE is still alive. We just released December's pack today, in fact. Or yesterday by now.

Hi sugar,

That's probably because you're trying to download the Torrent file without having a client such as BitTorrent installed. You can refer to the FTP/HTTP links at the bottom of the webpage for the actual ZIP or RAR versions insead, but grabbing the Torrent version is STRONGLY suggested as the primary method -- we have several highspeed people seeding. Links to Torrent clients can also be found on our website as well...
