GFXartist downtime due to hardware crash

Monday morning at approximately @050 our website has disappeared after a 'hardware upgrade from hell'. Exactly why the machine ceased to work remains unclear. It all started with plugging in some ram, and resulted with a crashed harddisk.

Fortunately our dedicated hosting provider has set up with a new machine. Arno worked his ass of all night long, so here we are again. We tried to put back the backup of 10/13, but the backup process was still running when the server decided to stop working. So we have put back the backup of 10/12. This means a minimal loss of data.

Everything should be working again, if you encounter any error on the site which wasn't there before the crash please report them to us at support@gfxartist.com.

Machines are just usefull crap therefor sometimes will play us bad "jokes".
Things are working again and here it is our beloved art gallery. Wellcome back guys, yesterday was a dark day without the "pic of the day".

Those machines really s*ck
I've 4 computers in my appartement. They crash very often. I'm addicted to buying hard drives and installing operating systems.
I hate computers as much as i can't do without. Isn't that TRUE LOVE?

Zancan, funny... ususally hard drive "crashes" are the users fault.
I've never had a drive fail on me yet. =P

the gfxartist drive was really fuckered

worked with it for about 2 hours and all i was able to recover with debugfs was lost+found which helped in the negative factor and forced arno to continue his gigantimongous backup upload.

blah... it was a valiant effort on everyone's part. but hey... the irc server is running again
