Nomination adjusted, please cast your vote

As described in the previous news post: Nomination Turmoil, the current elite nomination needed adjusting and adjusted they are. We haven't completely reselected the nominees but we have removed the members whos account have been suspended and released the votes that were given to them.

That means that those who have voted for Maham and/or Ei-en can now cast that vote again in the category in question. Unfortunately the vote period has not been extended so please resubmit your vote before the 8th. We are very sorry for all the chaos.

Every category needs at least 3 competing
but now... only 2 in photomanip :(

Yes, we have no choice but to make an exception. Since the nominations are a complex automated process, it would take us a lot of time to reset the nomination and have one outside of the normal timeframe.

IMHO the elite nominations are poorer and worse from month to month... :(

I've got also one question: When the new system will be established on GFXartist.com? I think you know what I'm talking about.

yes, a new system. when?;)
Again I see that the 3D and Design categories are not represented in the elite nominations. Why is this, is it not raising enough votes?

It's sad that no 3Ders are up for Elite nomination, there sure is enough talent and skill there.

Yes, the new system. The problem is that besides our work here, we're also all caught up in projects we do for our clients. It's very inconvenient that just when GFXartist really needs a system change, we are swamped with work that can't be delayed...

I hope we can start working on the first changes really soon. For me personally it's most important that we loose the competative 'I want to be no.1', 'I want to be elite' aspects.

One thing just occured to me...
both  Tigrenka and  thedorman have no artworks in their galleries. Are these ppl leaving? whats the deal here?
How can I vote for someone to be elite when he or she has no artwork in his/her gallery?

[edit] - oop, must be a glitch. Tigrenka does. dorman doesnt tho

competitive is good. its what inspire more artists. but the competitiveness for the elite ship is just mundane.

and i wish more people will look at the 3d side aswell..they do such awesome work, and hardly get any credit for it.

I don't think that the nominations are becoming more worse from time to time.
(Talking about the ones who haven't been suspended yet.)
It's just that we have many different people of many different styles here and recently there were people who were not that popular... because elite is always also a popularity issue.
So when maybe later only lonely images may be awarded then it could become even worse when only popular artists get votes and others are still kinda ignored.
However, it's a bit sad about the 3D section.
But I have no clue what could be done to bring more attention to it.

Another elite scandal. Tell me something. Do you guys award money or prizes when you become an elite?? I'm really curious as to why some people would go so far to become one.

Wish you guys could also do soemthing about the those present elites who havent posted a thing since they made elite. Very suspicious behaviour there also.

Metrini, i dont think everyone has time to post stuff often. look at all the normal members who dont post very regular ( no one notices them). being elite doesnt mean that you Have to post as much as everyone else.

Metrini: It always depends on if you are a photographer or a painter for instance.

I produce mainly paintings... but as much as I'd like to I can't procude more than 2-4 per mounth cause I also have work to do and to eat and sleep... you know?
It's easier for the photographers... taking a shot usually isn't that time consuming as a painting. (for instance)

PS: I think there is no way to find a system of any time (no metter where or how) which always runs perfectly.

I'm not talking about say the older elites. There are a few newer elites who were posting tons before they made elite. Then you dont hear from them again. There is one in particular who was rallying to make elite. I wont call any names but you can go look at their galleries and the time they made elite.

Avatar reilanchan

Yeah that's true they could keep on posting.
Well right now I can only name a few from my head who post regularly:
Madanapale, ThruMyEyes, ClaraSoto, Artoonator, Kittykat...

It's good to see your great efforts towards keeping GFX's integrity intact. This is an important factor in any art-based site, whether it be graphics, writing, music or any other forum that gives freedom and expression for peoples imaginations and genuine talents.

It's also good to note that this unfortunate event has been kept in perspective by both yourselves (admin) and the community as a whole.

Thanks Martin!
