GFXartist 2003 calendar contest

The end is near, less than a month away from 2003. And a new year means a new calendar. Well GFXartist has a treat for you. We are in the process of creating a full blown calendar featuring the most amazing artworks found in both the member and elite galleries. But something is missing, something is terribely wrong...

The objective
This fantastic calendar needs a first page. Something that screams GFXartist and warns its owner for yet another year of immense creativity in this community bubbling with life. Create an amazing, fantastic, magical, entertaining, or simply mind-blowing visual to complete the calendar. But don't forget to incorporate GFXartist using the logo or a more clever reference to the site. Feel free to use any means to create this piece, as long as it is legal :p.

The reward
Your creation will be on the front of every calendar that ships from our store, *if* it makes the other entries look like the doodles of a 2 year old. Additionally we might turn your artwork into a wall calendar of its own or mold it into desktop wallpaper size and give it a nice place here at GFXartist for all your worshippers to download.

The rules
- Dimensions: Bleed to 11.5 x 9 inches, trimmed 11 x 8.5 inches. In other words create it at 11.5 x 9  so that it can be printed on an area of 11 x 8,5.
- Minimal resolution: 150 DPI (= 1725 x 1350 pixels), 300 DPI (= 3450 x 2700 pixels) recommended.
- Remember it's a GFXartist calendar, it must be a clear part of the subject of your creation.
- Original work recommended. Do not use work of others without informing them the work will be printed and sold. You'll need their written permission. We might request to contact the original author.
- Sensual? Why not. Sexual and nudity... no. We want to be able to put this up without offending the family and kids.

The line of death is 20 December 2002

Submitting
Oops, almost forgot. All entries must be placed in the member gallery in the category "Calendar Contest". Good luck! If you need any help or if you have additional questions, send an email to support@gfxartist.com with 'calendar contest' in the subject.

As you can understand there is no need to make the gfxartist logo yourselves, so we've uploaded the GFXartist logosheet in eps format.

I added a line to the rules to avoid misunderstandings:

- Original work recommended. Do not use work of others without informing them the work will be printed and sold. You'll need their written permission. We might request to contact the original author.
